Daikin is in the process of setting up its third factory by 2022, as the company looks at its Indian subsidiary to ramp up manufacturing
Daikin, looking to make India its manufacturing hub, is in the process of expanding its operations in the country. The company is setting up its third factory in India, while ramping up its R&D facilities, and is also planning to manufacture climate-friendly air conditioners, revealed Kanwaijeet Jawa, MD and CEO, Daikin India, and a member of the board and regional general manager, AC business, India and East Africa, Dentin Industries Ltd.
Daikin India hopes to expand in markets from India to East Africa by exporting from its Indian subsidiary. The planned new factory is expected to come up in a 40 to 50-acre site. It will boost manufacturing capacity in order to meet growth requirements.
In April this year. Daikin, in collaboration with Nikken Sekkei Ltd. emerged as one of the two winners of the Global Cooling Prize (GCP), an international innovation competition aimed at developing super-efficient and environmentally friendly residential cooling solutions.
