Daikin Centre of Excellence

At Daikin, we believe in spreading the goodness amongst everyone and everywhere. And we do just that at Daikin Airconditioning India Pvt. Ltd. (DAIPL), a 100% subsidiary of Daikin Industries Ltd., Japan. Being a global leader in the manufacturing of commercial-use and residential air conditioning systems, the organization offers a wide range of energy efficient air conditioning solutions to the Indian customers. As part of the Skill India initiative, Daikin India has also developed training centres for the young minds who can be entrusted with the expansion of the air conditioning industry. Daikin India believed that India needed proper training centres, where today’s youth get the opportunity to become industry leaders. This idea, led to the formation of Daikin Centre of Excellence (CoE). The CoE acts as a common facility and is aimed at nurturing young minds and harnessing them for the HVAC Industry.

The CoE showcases Daikin’s futuristic products & advanced technology, and create a strong brand advocacy in institutes. The facility is used for both student-faculty training as well as DAIPL staff/channel partners training. Here, students have an opportunity to do their Industrial Training with DAIPL and learn from the industry experts. The curriculum is focused towards enhancing industry-readiness of students.

Daikin collaborated with institutes to build, CoE(Centre of Excellence), a strong infrastructure for air conditioning industry and motivates the learners of today to be the leaders of tomorrow. The CoE created a schedule that imparts theoretical as well as practical skills training to the students. It is a new and one of a kind initiative taken by Daikin India in the air-conditioning industry. This new venture which helps toward making a difference was covered by various press agencies and media.

So, with these many CoEs in India, what are we actually offering the students? We are engaging with the institutes at a micro-level in ensuring that the facility is utilized to the maximum and students learn and grow to become industry experts. Students are trained to understand the basics as well as the technology of latest air conditioning systems. The curriculum is created to suit industry demands and consists of practical during the semesters. While, YMCA CoE is being used for Community College, ITI-PUSA CoE is being used to train the students of the Institute, who are guided by the industry experts. Every now and then, the CoEs are visited by delegates from Australia, Japan and Singapore. These delegates spend their valuable time, share their knowledge and professional expertise with the students and staff at the CoE. They have also acknowledged and appreciated the noble idea behind this venture.
