According to Kanwal Jeet Jawa, Managing Director & CEO, Daikin India, Daikin is flourishing since the inception of the company and is expected to be a billion-dollar company by 2019-20. To achieve this massive number, it will have to accomplish a growth rate of 20-22 percent, led by the amalgamation of high double-digit growth in domestic markets, addition of new products and increase in exports.
Last year in November, Daikin commenced operations at its second manufacturing plant in Neemrana, Rajasthan. And, now planning to add another leg to its manufacturing unit in South India to be at par with the growing AC market. As per the recent article published in The Economic Times, “Daikin India has a turnover of Rs 3,250 crore in 2016- 17 and expects to cross Rs 4,000 crore in the current fiscal, as it has witnessed around 20 per cent value growth in the last three quarters.” Resonating the success, Daikin is planning to lead the Indian HVAC industry (heating, ventilation, and air conditioning) segment by selling more than 10 lakh units of AC in 2019.
In addition to focusing on the domestic market, the company plans to expand internationally and boost export. At the initial stages, it has started exporting to Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, Nepal and South Africa. With the increase in production capacity, it will scout for other potential global markets.
With these plans in the pipeline, Daikin aims to reach the paramount of the Indian market, as well as, set a benchmark in the international market. Hence, becoming one of the topmost names in the air conditioning industry.
