Having extended its presence in the United States with the establishment of Daikin AC (Americas), Inc. in 2005 and acquisition of O.Y.L. Industries Bhd in 2006, Daikin further broadened its areas of business with the acquisition of the Goodman Global Group, Inc. This acquisition marked Daikin's full-scale entry into the residential unitary market of North America where ducted air conditioners dominate. Synergy from the acquisition has enabled differentiation from other companies with the fusion of the ducted and ductless businesses and sales expansion of ductless air conditioning using the Goodman sales network.
