Fluorocarbon gas is successively manufactured for a Japanese first
Recognizing the importance of handling both refrigeration equipment and refrigerant gas, founder Akira Yamada made a decision to develop a chemicals business. Fluorocarbon gas had been developed in the US in 1930 and had been receiving attention. Daikin started its research and development of fluorocarbon gas in 1933. After making trial and error, Daikin succeeded in the production of fluorocarbon gas in 1935, first time in Japan. This gave birth to Daikin becoming a leading air conditioning company and at the same time, the only company in the world to develop and manufacture both air conditioning equipment and refrigerant.
